About Stearyl Phosphate

Stearyl Phosphate is a mixture of mono- and diesters of stearyl alcohol and phosphoric acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] It is described as a white, wax-like solid, so checking which phase it dissolves in first and then dissolving or dispersing it in the appropriate phase makes it easier to create a uniform formula.[2]
