About Stearyl Gallate

Stearyl Gallate is an ester formed by combining an acid-derived portion with an alcohol-derived portion. [1] The oxidative stability of a finished product containing Stearyl Gallate is affected not only by the formulation concentration, but also by the ingredients used with it, the packaging method, and storage conditions involving exposure to light and air. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formulation ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen. [1]
