About Stearoyl Inulin

Stearoyl Inulin is a condensation reaction product of stearic acid chloride and the carbohydrate inulin.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on skin or hair and add a smooth feel, to create emulsion formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
