About Sr-Hydrozoan Polypeptide-1
Sr-Hydrozoan Polypeptide-1 is a single-chain recombinant protein fragment obtained by fermenting Escherichia coli.[1] The number 1 at the end of the name is only an identification number distinguishing different peptides; it does not indicate the amount used in a formulation or rank efficacy. In cosmetics, it is used to form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application, to reduce tangling and roughness and leave hair feeling smooth, and to attract moisture to the formulation and skin surface and help maintain a moisturized feel.[2] It is also used to leave the skin's surface feeling soft and smooth and to absorb or reflect ultraviolet light, reducing the amount that reaches the skin.[2]
