About Spiculisporic Acid

Spiculisporic Acid is a compound containing acidic groups.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms, lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly, and create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly blended.[1] It is also used to physically or chemically condition old dead skin cells on the skin’s surface, leave the surface feeling soft and smooth, and attract moisture to the formulation and skin’s surface to help maintain hydration.[1]
