About Soyamine
Soyamine is a primary aliphatic amine derived from soy acid. It generally has the following structure, where R is an alkyl group derived from soy.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, and to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of finished products is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and the nitrosamine content must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
