Sorbeth-50 Pentaisostearate is the pentaester of a polyethylene glycol ether of sorbitol with an average of 50 moles of ethylene oxide and isostearic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly blended, and to lower surface tension so that ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
