About Sorbeth-450 Tristearate
Sorbeth-450 Tristearate is a triester of sorbitol polyethylene glycol ether with an average of 450 moles of ethylene oxide and stearic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, increase the amount of foam and help keep it from collapsing easily, and lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2] It is also used to adjust a formula's viscosity and flow.[2]
