Sorbeth-40 Pentaoleate is the pentaester of oleic acid and a polyethylene glycol ether of sorbitol containing an average of 40 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
