Sorbeth-230 Tetraoleate is the tetraester of a polyethylene glycol ether of sorbitol with an average of 230 moles of ethylene oxide and oleic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsion formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly, and control the viscosity and flow of the formulation.[2]
