About Sodium/Tea-Undecylenoyl Hydrolyzed Soy Protein

Sodium/Tea-Undecylenoyl Hydrolyzed Soy Protein is a mixture of the triethanolamine salt and sodium salt of a condensate formed from undecylenic acid chloride and hydrolyzed soy protein.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and dirt rinse away with water, reduce tangling and rough feel in hair for smoother manageability, and leave the skin’s surface feeling soft and smooth.[3] It is also used to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the maximum concentration is 2.5% in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is set for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
