About Sodium/Tea-Undecylenoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen

Sodium/TEA-Undecylenoyl Hydrolyzed Collagen is a mixture of the triethanolamine salt and sodium salt of a condensation product consisting of undecylenic acid chloride and hydrolyzed collagen.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or cling together, to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, and to smooth and condition hair by reducing tangling and rough feel.[3] It is also used to leave the skin surface soft and smooth and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, it may be used at up to 2.5% in leave-on products, with no separate maximum concentration specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
