About Sodium Surfactin

Sodium surfactin is a peptide lipid composed of amino acids and fatty acids obtained by fermentation.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and give liquid formulas a gel-like form and viscosity.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
