About Sodium Stearoyl Soy Protein
Sodium Stearoyl Soy Protein is the sodium salt of the condensation reaction product of stearic acid chloride and soybean protein.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, to reduce hair tangling and rough feel for smoother conditioning, and to leave the skin’s surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to reduce surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
