About Sodium Propoxy PPG-2 Acetate
Sodium Propoxy PPG-2 Acetate is an ingredient in salt form, consisting of an acid and a base paired together.[1] The number 2 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units. Depending on this number and the type of fatty component attached, oil miscibility and application feel vary. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and help ingredients that do not dissolve well in water disperse more evenly in the water phase.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
