Sodium Polyquaternium Crosspolymer-1 is a polymerized quaternary ammonium compound formed from acrylamide, sodium acrylate, and methacrylamidopropyltrimethylammonium cross-linked with methylenebis-acrylamide.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application and to reduce hair tangling and rough feel for smoother conditioning.[2]
