About Sodium PEG-3 Lauramide Carboxylate
Sodium PEG-3 lauramide carboxylate is the sodium salt of an organic acid derived from PEG-3 lauramide.[1] The number 3 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added. With the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
