Sodium Palmitoyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein is the condensation product of palmitic acid chloride and hydrolyzed wheat protein.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, smooth and condition hair by reducing tangling and roughness, and leave the skin surface soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so that ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
