About Sodium Oxidized Starch Acetate/Succinate
Sodium Oxidized Starch Acetate/Succinate is the sodium salt of the product obtained by esterification of oxidized starch with acetic acid and succinic anhydride.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to form a thin film on the skin, hair, and nail surfaces after application, smooth and condition hair by reducing tangling and roughness, and attract water to the formula and skin surface to help maintain moisture.[2] It is also used to leave the skin surface soft and smooth.[2]
