About Sodium Oleth Sulfate
Sodium Oleth Sulfate is the sodium salt of the sulfate ester of the polyethylene glycol ether of oleyl alcohol.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and form lather during use.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
