About Sodium Octoxynol-9 Sulfate

Sodium Octoxynol-9 Sulfate is the sodium salt of the sulfuric acid ester of Octoxynol-6.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
