Sodium Laurylglucosides Hydroxypropylsulfonate is the sodium salt of the sulfonate ester of a mixture of hydroxypropyl lauryl monoglucoside and hydroxypropyl lauryl diglucoside.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, increase the amount of foam and help it last longer.[2] It is also used to help ingredients that do not dissolve easily in water disperse more evenly in the water phase.[2]
