About Sodium Laureth Sulfate

Sodium laureth sulfate is the sodium salt of sulfated and ethoxylated lauryl alcohol.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and form foam during use.[2] It is also used to reduce surface tension so that raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
