Sodium Laureth-4 Carboxylate is the sodium salt of a carboxylic acid derived from Laureth-4.[1] The number 4 at the end of the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units and changes the balance between water-loving and oil-loving portions, resulting in differences in cleansing and emulsifying performance and feel.
