About Sodium Lauraminopropionate

Sodium Lauraminopropionate is the sodium salt of a substituted propionic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or cling together, help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, and create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2] It is also used to increase the amount of foam and help keep it from collapsing easily, reduce tangling and rough feel for smoother hair, and lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
