About Sodium Glycereth-1 Polyphosphate

Sodium Glycereth-1 Polyphosphate is the sodium salt of a complex mixture of esters of glycerin with 1 mole of ethylene oxide added and tetraphosphoric acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to bind metal ions and reduce their effects on color, scent, and formula stability, give liquid formulas a gel-like form and viscosity, and lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2] It is also used to adjust the viscosity and flow of formulas.[2]
