Sodium Chitosan Lauramide Hydroxypropylsulfonate is obtained by reacting chitosan with lauric acid anhydride and sodium 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropanesulfonate.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, reduce tangling and rough feel in the hair for smoother conditioning, and leave the skin's surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to help protect the skin from external factors.[2]
