About Sodium Ceteareth-13 Carboxylate

Sodium Ceteareth-13 Carboxylate is the sodium salt of a carboxylic acid derived from Ceteareth-13.[1] The number 13 at the end of the name refers to the average number of added ethylene oxide units, changing the balance between the water-loving and oil-loving portions and creating differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
