About Sodium Castorate
Sodium Castorate is the sodium salt of fatty acids derived from castor seed oil.[1] Because Sodium Castorate has a structure with portions attracted to water and oil, its cleansing power, foam, and sensory feel may vary depending on the concentration and the surfactants used with it. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
