Sodium Capryloyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein is the sodium salt produced by the condensation reaction of caprylic acid chloride and hydrolyzed wheat protein.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, to reduce tangling and rough feel in hair for smoother manageability, and to leave the skin surface soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
