About Sodium C9-11 Pareth-6 Carboxylate

Sodium C9-11 Pareth-6 Carboxylate is the sodium salt of C9-11 Pareth-6 Carboxylic Acid, in which R is a C9-11 alkyl group and n is an average of 5.[1] The number 6 at the end of the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. It changes the balance between the water-loving and oil-loving portions, resulting in differences in cleansing ability, emulsification, and sensory feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
