About Sodium C14-15 Pareth-8 Carboxylate
Sodium C14-15 Pareth-8 Carboxylate is the sodium salt of C14-15 Pareth-8 carboxylic acid, where R is mainly a C14-15 alkyl group and n is an average of 7.[1] The number 8 at the end of the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. It changes the balance between the water-loving and oil-loving parts, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and feel during use. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
