About Sodium C13-15 Pareth-3 Sulfate

Sodium C13-15 Pareth-3 Sulfate is the sodium salt of the sulfated polyethylene glycol ether of a mixture of C13-15 synthetic alcohols.[1] The number 3 at the end of the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. It changes the balance between the water-loving and oil-loving parts, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and feel during use. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
