Sodium C12-15 Pareth-7 Carboxylate is the sodium salt of C12-15 Pareth-7 carboxylic acid.[1] The number 7 at the end of the name refers to the average number of added ethylene oxide units. It changes the balance between water-loving and fat-loving parts, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and skin feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly blended, and lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
