About Sodium C12-15 Pareth-3 Sulfate
Sodium C12-15 Pareth-3 Sulfate is the sodium salt of the sulfated polyethylene glycol ether of a mixture of synthetic C12-15 alcohols.[1] The number 3 at the end of the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; this changes the balance between water-loving and oil-loving parts, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and skin feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help rinse away sebum and impurities with water and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
