About Sodium C12-15 Pareth-15 Sulfonate
Sodium C12-15 Pareth-15 Sulfonate is the sodium sulfonate of an ethoxylated synthetic fatty alcohol.[1] The number 15 at the end of the name refers to the average number of added ethylene oxide units. It changes the balance between the water-attracting and oil-attracting parts, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and lower surface tension so that raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
