About Sodium C10-16 Alkyl Sulfate

Sodium C10-16 Alkyl Sulfate is the sodium salt of the sulfate of a mixture of synthetic fatty alcohols with alkyl chains containing 10-16 carbon atoms.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it last longer, and lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
