About Sodium Bisulfite
Sodium Bisulfite is an inorganic salt.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to slow the oxidation of formula ingredients through reactions with oxygen, delay deterioration during storage by inhibiting the growth of microorganisms in the product, and cause reactions that reduce other ingredients.[3] In Europe, when used as a preservative, it is permitted at up to 0.2% based on the free sulfur dioxide content.[2]
