About Sodium/Aluminum/Iron/Sulfate/Tartarate/Hydroxide
Sodium/Aluminum/Iron/Sulfate/Tartarate/Hydroxide is an ingredient obtained by reacting aluminum sulfate, ferric sulfate, sodium hydroxide, and tartaric acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit microbial growth, bind metal ions to reduce their effects on color, scent, and formula stability, and reduce the prominence of unpleasant odors.[2] It is also used to attract moisture to the formula and skin’s surface and help maintain hydration, reduce light transmission so the contents appear less visible, and reduce changes to the product and formula ingredients caused by ultraviolet radiation.[2]
