About Sodium Acrylate/Vinyl Alcohol Copolymer

Sodium Acrylate/Vinyl Alcohol Copolymer is a polymer of sodium acrylate and vinyl alcohol monomers.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, to help ingredients in a formulation bind together and maintain its form, and to prevent emulsions of water and oil from separating easily.[2] It is also used to form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application, and to control the viscosity and flow of the formulation.[2]
