About Silicone Quaternium-25
Silicone Quaternium-25 is a complex polymer obtained by reacting a PEG-39/PPG-6 block copolymer with glycidoxy-terminated polydimethylsiloxane and terminal 2-aminopropyl groups, and N,N,N',N'-tetramethyl-1,6-hexanediamine.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, reduce hair tangling and roughness for smoother grooming, and leave the skin's surface soft and smooth.[2] Trimethylamine is used as a capping agent, while lauric acid and acetic acid are used to neutralize residual amine groups.[1]
