About Silica Silylate

Silica Silylate is a hydrophobic silica derivative in which some hydroxyl groups on the surface of fumed silica are replaced with trimethylsiloxyl groups.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help powder ingredients flow evenly without forming lumps, suppress unwanted foam during manufacturing or use, increase formulation volume and control the amount of solids, reduce friction on skin or hair and add a smooth feel, prevent water-and-oil emulsions from separating easily, leave the skin’s surface feeling soft and smooth, and control the formulation’s viscosity and flow.[2] [2] [2]
