Silica Dimethicone Silylate is a hydrophobic silica derivative with dimethicone added to the surface of fused or precipitated silica.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to absorb liquids in the formula, such as water or oil; to help powder ingredients flow evenly without forming lumps; and to suppress unwanted foam during manufacturing or use.[2] It is also used to adjust the formula’s viscosity and flow.[2]
