About Shikimoyl Sh-Nonapeptide-12
Shikimoyl Sh-Nonapeptide-12 is an ingredient obtained by reacting shikimic acid with Sh-Nonapeptide-12.[1] The number 12 at the end of the name is only an identification number used to distinguish different peptides; it does not indicate the amount used or a ranking of efficacy. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce the formation or visibility of dandruff on the scalp, inhibit microbial growth, and slow the oxidation of formula ingredients caused by their reaction with oxygen.[2] It is also used to reduce hair tangling and roughness for smoother hair, and to protect the skin from external factors.[2]
