About Sh-Polypeptide-89
Sh-Polypeptide-89 is a single-chain recombinant human peptide obtained by fermenting Escherichia coli.[1] The number 89 at the end of the name is only an identification number distinguishing different peptides; it does not indicate the amount used or rank efficacy. In cosmetics, it is used to slow the rate at which formula ingredients oxidize through reactions with oxygen, attract moisture to the formula and skin surface and help maintain hydration, and soften and smooth the skin’s surface.[2]
