About Sesquioctyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate
Sesquioctyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate is a mixture of the mono- and diesters of octyldodecanol and lauroyl glutamic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, keep emulsified water-and-oil formulas from separating easily, and attract moisture to the formula and skin’s surface to help maintain a moisturized feel.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
