About Sesamide DEA

Sesamide DEA is a mixture of diethanolamides of fatty acids obtained from sesame oil.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to increase the amount of foam and help it last longer, reduce surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly, and adjust the formulation’s viscosity and flow.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of the finished product is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and the nitrosamine content must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
