About Sericin

Sericin is a protein obtained from raw silk produced by silkworm moths.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, reduce tangling and roughness for smooth hair conditioning, and leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to condition the surface of the skin or hair evenly for a smooth feel.[2]
