About Sassafras Officinale Root Oil
Sassafras officinale root oil is a volatile oil obtained from sassafras roots and contains approximately 80% safrole. Volatile components obtained from sassafras roots contribute to the initial impression of a fragrance and the lingering scent after application, and tend to evaporate more readily than ordinary plant oils.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to prevent the characteristic odor or taste of other ingredients from becoming overly prominent.[2]
