About Salicyloyl Octapeptide-9

Salicyloyl Octapeptide-9 is an ingredient obtained by reacting salicylic acid with Octapeptide-9.[1] The number 9 at the end of the name is only an identifying number used to distinguish different peptides; it does not indicate the amount used or rank of efficacy. In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms, slow the oxidation of formula ingredients caused by reactions with oxygen, and help manage shine caused by sebum and scalp and skin condition.[2] It is also used to help protect the skin from external factors.[2]
